From Digital Identification to Visible Guidance
Each RFID UHF LED label can be associated with the identification information of a cable, optical transceiver or other managed asset.
Used with a compatible UHF RFID reader and management system, multiple labels can be identified during an inventory operation. Users can then search according to the information stored in the system and select one or multiple target items.
Once selected, the LEDs on the corresponding labels light up. This converts the search result displayed in the system into a visible indication at the physical location.
Instead of repeatedly checking printed labels, technicians can follow the illuminated LED to find the required item.
How the Workflow Operates
A typical application workflow includes five steps:
- Attach an RFID UHF LED label to each optical transceiver, cable or managed asset.
- Associate the label’s EPC information with the relevant asset record.
- Use a compatible reader to identify labels within the working area.
- Search the management system and select one or multiple target items.
- Illuminate the corresponding labels and locate the required assets visually.
The same process can be used during routine searches, inventory checks, equipment replacement and maintenance operations.

Optical Transceiver Identification
Optical transceivers are often similar in appearance and may be stored or installed close together. Illuminating the corresponding label helps technicians distinguish selected transceivers from surrounding items.
Cable and Connection Management
RFID UHF LED labels can provide visible guidance when technicians need to identify specific cables or cable-related assets in densely arranged equipment areas.
Multiple-Target Searching
Users can select multiple records according to a maintenance task, equipment type or other system-defined condition. The corresponding labels can then be illuminated together, making a group of target items easier to recognize.
Inventory Checks
UHF RFID supports the identification of multiple labels, helping users verify managed assets more efficiently. When an item requires further confirmation, its LED can be illuminated for physical verification.
Routine Maintenance
During equipment replacement, inspection or troubleshooting, visible LED guidance can help technicians find the required item and reduce unnecessary manual searching.
